In the early hours of a winter morning, a mist rises at the spectacular Athabasca Falls in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. Though not the largest waterfall in the Canadian Rockies, the falls are known to be among the most powerful. Park visitors can hike there but must exercise caution: According to park authorities, that "gentle" mist covers the rocks with a slippery film and makes attempting to cross the protective railings dangerous. /
